Tal and Greetings,
I went perusing the board here and I found a topic I wanted to speak about.
The topic was : Ic/OOC statements made by slaves and how it has changed Gor...
Have you ever heard the bellow and thought what the person really meant by these statements? I know that I have.
'slavery isn't easy'
'I am so scarred of screwing up'
'How many books do I need to read, or where can I learn more about Gor'
'Gor is so hard, I'm a BDSM'er and I can't hack it.'
These are but some of the statements made in the past. But in the years folks have pushed people, forgotten about where limits stand and have allowed these statements to be made.
'I just said it OOCly, it wasn't Icly'
'slavery is EASY, I get what I want'
'slavery is just something I do when I have spare time.'
'learn a life lesson? no, I'm just roleplaying..'
I hardly ever hear these comments anymore :
'I'm a soul player, I feel what occurs..'
'That essay was hard, but I learned so much from it!'
'My Master holds me accountable for the posts I make'
'I don't want to upset my Owner, cause I fear the results of doing such..'
'My hands tremble just being in the room'
'That bond makes my groin stand at attention from the fire in her service'
(And it wasn't about how much she was showing off either.)
As you can see, these statements hold alot of thoughts, alot of commentary and one could learn alot just by 'delving' into each of these statements.
'What is Gor to you, and why are you in Gor'
I think that my answer has been over the years, the simple fact of finding ways to improve, to understand the human condition and in that learning and improvement somehow become a better person for being here.
When Gor is a pastime where nobody cares, you get nothing out of Gor, and it becomes more a game of DnD without the Dragons or the little faries, or them cool kender guy's.
So give thought of not answering this post, but what Gor has been for you, don't speak about it, but sit down and ask yourself what drew you to Gor, and how can you get that level of 'strength' back for you.
More importantly thou, is respecting that Gor is an all encompasing entity, it isn't a switch you can turn off. <--- My thoughts entirely.
With this all said, I leave you with many thoughts. Try not to respond here, but accept what I have said, and either bring this into you, delve into the statements and learn from them.
Or, just do nothing at all...
