The lateness of the hour marks it as the end of business day, I'd gather, so I find a mop and scrub brush, buckets, water, and set to work scouring and washing marble so that the floors will be clean at the open of business tomorrow......it's quite, peaceful, serene, and the soap smells of citrus and here, in the women's area, has a hint of sweet smelling flowers....

: says to ALL:.... ....after swimming several laps across the pool, strong arms bring me up out of the side where water drips unerringly from my naked form to the tiles while I rise to stand. Both arms lift to squeeze water from long dark hair as I make my way to the area where oils are lined and stored. A brief soft white towel is wrapped around my form while skin dries, and I begin to check the containers for the levels of oils, determining which need refilling and which require cleaning. Checking a cabinet beneath, cloths are found and a bowl of water with soap of a faint citrus scent is used to clean some of the containers, jars, and bottles...

Curious what this scent is, the bone cork is removed and the bottle brought to my nose. The feint scent of talender is felt, the cork set atop the counter, and I crouch down before the cabinet to search for a refill supply...

: says to ALL:.... ....wet hair lies flat against my back, clinging to moist pinkened skin. While supplies on the cabinet are examined and moved around with one hand, my free hand subconsciously gathers hair forward over my shoulder to comb fingers through it. I see the storage cabinets are very organized, everything is clean and neat, and even the shelves have been swiped clean. auralia and the others clearly keep things clean and I'm careful not to spill anything or move things from their designated areas. Finding a refill for the Talender scented oil, I bring it up to refill the decorative glass bottle. While refilling jars and containers, Mistress' words are replayed in my mind, and her will that the attributes of the bath house are to be advertised within the streets.....the prospect makes me nervous yet at the same time, my mind conjures up various innovative ways of doing so....

: says to ALL:.... ….wiping the rim of the bottle with the clean cloth and recorking it, I press it back in line with the others and give the counter one last swipe. Hearing the call of another, that the towels are dry, I toss the soiled cloth into a covered, lined basket and head for my uniform as the towel is unwound from my form….the halter and loin cloth are fastened and I head to another room to fold and roll towels for use of the patrons. They’re still warm when I get there, contrasting pleasantly with cool skin from the bath waters…following the example of another, towels and clothes are folded and I listen to the small talk and various bits of gossip taking place among some of the girls….

The girl wears a collar similar to mine except that the plate on hers shows her use price as a silver tarn disk. she tugs a lock of my hair and gestures to a stool, "sit, it's driving me crazy." and with the last of the linens placed in baskets or shelves, I take a seat and she gently but firmly begins working through the knots...."thank you. : says to ALL:.... ....the sight of him brings an immediate smile to my lips, and not just because it is polite, pleasant, or the sort of thing a slave does when in the presence of the free. More than all of that, smiling for Thadeus is a bone-deep instinct and anyone spending more than a few moments in his presence can see right away why all the girls like him. Not only does Thadeus smile a lot, but he's also kind. He's thoroughly capable of commanding respect and dominating any given situation, despite his unusual condition, and his tales depict the stuff he's made of from the inside out. Wondering idly why his regular bath girl is unavailable to assist Thadeus today, I'm glad for the opportunity of assisting in a bath, for the first time, at Mistress's Azdak Bathhouse and even moreso that the Warrior didn't feel any need whatsoever to shame me for being merely a 20 copper tarn girl. My fingers are warm and soft with the use of emollients, his sandals removed one after the other and set off just to the side, within easy reach. I feel the rough texture of skin hardened by years of walking, running, and doing battle. A clearing of the elder man's throat has my gaze lifting, apprehension stiffening my shoulders, and I see his focus upon my scars, and finally he speaks, "Danced with a panther, did you, slave girl of Gor?" ....I see in his eyes no condemnation, disdain, or disgust, and a held breath is released. She'd not committed yet, she was unsure, merely curious, and I would do well to show her the attributes within....coo waters....warm waters....cleansing....a massage if she wishes. Upon the suggestion of such a service, the Mistress cuffs me, reminding me that she has her own slave to perform such things for her. The sound of a flute is heard, muted, and idly I wonder if it's a volunteer or if the musician earns coin here. Close on lissa's heals I follow as she leads the way into a quiet room. : says to ALL:.... ....several laps are taken back and forth.....back and forth.....muscles burning with the exertion and skin cooled with the soft liquid, breaking the surface now and then to fill my lungs with air. Once the fifthieth lap is completed I pause at the end of the long pool and squeeze the water from my hair with one hand, holding to the edge with the other and having a look at the items I've aligned there on the edge of the pool. The place is empty, or at least this particular area, so that the tiles can be scrubbed and the area given a thorough cleaning. Reaching for the white ribbon, I use it to tie wet hair back at the nape of my neck before reaching for the scrub brush necessary to get the job done....

Well I duck into the shadows and move quickly to a new area.....

"Pretty girl's and steaming hot baths....at Azdak's!!" ....the last word, of course, would be the loudest and the most lyrical, a feminine summoning, a siren's calling, and just at the right moment, I would duck out of sight, just a whisper of hair seen fluttering in the evening's breeze or a shock of the white material glimpsed before I would duck out of sight......the eye of any that might hear or be interested would naturally be drawn toward the bath house, perhaps some would grow curious, venture inside....

Too, the whole indoor landscape will be well rounded when the bitty, newly budding desert verminium, because the color chosen is almost a replica of the color of ramberries, and I know Mistress appreciates both hues.....the yellow of the talender and the dark hue of ramberry....

Once the greenery is finished, I turn to the desert verminium and begin placing them within the planter, sparsely but strategically to aesthetically compliment the larger yellow flowers....mmmhmmm....it's beautiful!

: says to ALL:.... ...the tray of remaining flowers and the padding for knees are then taken to another room where a planter had a few areas that could be filled in....sometimes plants are removed for various reason, perhaps a girl will be decorated by a patron and flowers are used, and the extra yellow talenders will be a perfect filler.....once again I kneel, using the padding, and the new plants find new homes into which they can stretch their roots.....I clean up, then, washing both hands and the now empty trays, the towel is dropped into the dirty laundry basket, and I sneak out the back to do a little exploring of nearby areas, perhaps promote the bathhouse as Mistress had decreed....

: says to ALL:.... ....figuring to explore the pavilion area while at the same time promoting Azdak Bathhouse, I head into the sporting area because, well, don't sweaty men who are working out appreciate a bath to clean in afterwards? Sure they do. The only trouble with this idea, of course, is that I might actually come in contact with some of them. Ewww. Sure enough, rounding the corner just inside the entrance, some guy grabs me around the waist and pulls me close. He's strong, his arm being like a band of iron and locked tight despite my initial squirming, pushing, and shoving to try and get away. But you know what they say about inciting a man's predatory instinct and you'd think I'd learn by now that resisting is usually considered a challenge, "hey there, pretty, where'd you come from?" He says on breath that is surprisingly not foul smelling. I say surprisingly because he's so smelly otherwise! Not like rotting trash, no no, it's just the body odor that is borne of lots of hard work, a workout obviously, and ohmydearme, he's still holding his sword. I glance down to have a look at how near the blade is to my right calf and I see it's bloodied.....

Its silver color glimmers as my chin rises, with the sun shining down and illuminating the links of chain and the plate that shows the cost of a bath girl's attendance. I guess this sort of advertisement is just as good as shouting out the name. He squints and his tight hold on my waist flinches a little. He looks at me, I can feel his perusal of me and I wonder what measure he uses to determine a girl's worth. "If I had it, I'd spend it on ye lassie." he thrusts me back away from him, not because I disappoint him but simply because the man doesn't know his own strength it appears. I stumble back a little and then catch my footing, and turn to watch as he lumbers past. Perhaps he's off to his real job, because he's not wearing the colors of scarlet and so has to maybe work for a living? I shudder, uncaring what his caste is and just glad he didn't have the coin for a bath....

Slave tunics get ripped a lot around here, lusty men of Tetrapoli taking what they want, when how they want it. I'm knelt threading the needle upon the serving furs within the pavilion and watch for opportunities to serve the free. While doing so, I reflect on the difference between my life now and what it was before, before my tenure in the forest, with my family. I’m aware today more than ever the pattern of worship that has woven through my relationships….first my father while growing up in the city of Ar, then my brother during our sojourn through Schendi…and now…..the Administrator of Tetrapoli....

Eventually I'll find the shade. Beginning the job of mending the torn tunic, I recall the day my worship of man had ceased for a time. The day my brother disappeared and the evil interloper had come at me with a bloody knife. Such a departure from the pattern though does not diminish what has seemed to be a pattern for me, though, and all of these vague ruminations beg the question....was I born to worship? Savon would have said so, the Tuchuk claimed in no uncertain terms it is a fact. Thoughts turn to my Master and his ruthless, determined use of me, his raw masculine attitude, and I grow afraid. What have I gotten myself into? Flushing pink with shame, I bend forward over the mending for a few ehn to hide my reddened face....I'd begged for the man's collar like a giani begs for scraps on the docks of Ushindi. I had quivered beneath the Administrator's Masterly touch. I am a child of Gor. I am a female of Gor. Is it possible that the Priest Kings could have engineered my genetics to simply be.....a.....a....pleasure giver to men? Heat washes down through me, pooling in my loins, the mending set gently into the basket of sewing items and I rise and numbly go in search of a water barrel to splash my face and the back of my neck.....

My hand dips beneath the surface of water and splashes it up onto heated skin, while my mind searches the remnants of my memories of childhood. Raised in the high caste, my father and mother had taught each of us the caste practices with painstaking care.....never ever had I not felt myself loved nor treated in any way ignoble. Perhaps my downfall merely came the day I'd decided to pursue my brother in his associations with the Alliance.....I'd chased the danger but surely it was Deverill's pride or arrogance that had propelled me into the wilds after his disappearance. Splashing water on the back of my neck, feeling considerably cooled, I meander back toward the mending.....the serving furs.....invariably thoughts turn to my Master and I am reminded that regardless of the why's or the how's.....I will seek to please him.....

: says to ALL:.... ….hands washed and dried, the scent of citrus mixed with berry, still lingers in the air, reminding me of the fresh crop of fruits that arrived yesterday at the pavilion….they always seem to get the very best here in Tetrapoli, perhaps because it is only the very best city in all of Gor. The berries are especially succulent and probably greenhouse grown, their bright colors standing out against the rest of the cooking area as I make my way barefooted into the room. Deftly, slender fingers bring the camisk down over my head, and my mind contemplates what to do with the fruit, as the leather binding fibers are brought around my waist to secure the camisk in place. As is common practice, the leather binding is brought around my slender waist once, and then doubled a second time, knotted at my right hip, a poignant symbolic reminder of the state of bondage in which I’m held….

: says to ALL:.... ....before long fingers are stained with the rich colors of the berries as they are sliced and diced, a tune hummed aloud in a sweetly contented voice.....once the dry ingredients are combined and butter cut into them, the berries are added and set to the side.....the bowl is colorful, porcelain painted with flowers of the desert, and it compliments well my Master's grand estate.....eggs, fresh from the coop this morning, are broken into a simple clear glass bowl and beaten before being combined with rich fresh cream.....pouring the creamy mixture into the larger bowl of ingredients, the dough is then mixed and stirred until rounds and wedges can be formed and spaced on the baking sheet......fingers sticky with white sweet goo are washed and then dried, the pan placed into the stone oven, and before I even have a chance to concentrate on the rest of the breakfast, the cooking area is soon filled with the heady aroma of freshly baking scones.....

Eyes search for the vegetables and I head that way, contemplating the best way to acquire moccasins so that my toes don't freeze, with winter's oncoming and all that. Lowering into a crouch and setting the basket down in a small clear area of dirt, I reach and inspect some lucious looking peppers and a few other choice ripe items that will, no doubt, make a delicious salad. I wonder, idly, if he who owns me likes salad....

I'd been tempted to purchase some of the same potter's pieces when I was a mere fledgling in my father's caste house, yet could not afford the steep price...... once the peppers are cut and added to the katch and radishes, a cupboard is opened and a stash of nuts is appraised, thinking they might add some snazz to the salad......
